HOW WE AUDITION
NYGE have pioneered an unorthodox but highly successful method for selecting candidates. The audition and interview lasts approximately 20 minutes. Each candidate will be asked to prepare the following:
> Free choice solo piece:
Equivalent of Grade 5 - 8 standard.
> Two quick study pieces:
20 minutes before the audition the candidate will be presented with two solo and two duet quick study pieces. The candidate is asked to choose one solo and one duo quick study to perform at their audition, the latter to be performed alongside one of the panel members.
> Feedback:
A written appraisal of the audition will be given to unsuccessful candidates. By doing this, we hope to provide a positive audition experience and help both the student and teacher in preparations for future auditions.
