The National Youth Guitar Ensemble offers the highest standard of ensemble training in the U.K for young aspiring guitarists, with the inspired musical leadership of Gerald Garcia and the efficient organization from Coordinator Liz Larner.
The European Guitar Teachers’ Association founded NYGE in 1999 and over the years has witnessed the many successes of the ensemble. These include a highly acclaimed performance with John Williams in 2002 at the Guildhall (Bath) and the most recent collaborations with the Eden Stell duo, including the release of the Festive Fizz CD featuring NYGE’s recording with the duo and with Cellist Victoria Walker.Stephen Dodgson and Alfonso Montes have dedicated works to NYGE and the ensemble has performed in the presence of Leo Brouwer and Andrew York.

AUDITION RESULTS:
NYGE WOULD LIKE TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF THE CANDIDATES THAT APPLIED FOR NYGE 2009.
THIS YEAR NYGE AUDITIONED THE LARGEST NUMBER OF CANDIDATES IN THE HISTORY OF THE ENSEMBLE, WITH AUDITIONS TAKING PLACE ACROSS THE U.K IN MANCHESTER, LONDON AND BIRMINGHAM. THE STANDARD OF THE AUDITIONS WAS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH.
FEEDBACK FROM THE 2009 AUDITIONS HAS NOW BEEN SENT OUT.
The National Youth Guitar Ensemble (NYGE) holds auditions once a year (in the winter) for places on the following year’s courses. Information on the 2009 course fees and concert is now available. If you enjoy performing with others and have a thirst for fun, then NYGE is the ensemble for you! Information on applications for NYGE 2010 will be available in Autumn 2009.
