These include a highly acclaimed performance with John Williams in 2002 at the Guildhall (Bath) and the most recent collaborations with the Eden Stell duo, including the release of the Festive Fizz CD featuring NYGE’s recording with the duo and with Cellist Victoria Walker.Stephen Dodgson and Alfonso Montes have dedicated works to NYGE and the ensemble has performed in the presence of Leo Brouwer and Andrew York

The National Youth Guitar Ensemble (NYGE) offers the highest standard of ensemble training in the U.K for young aspiring guitarists, with the inspired musical leadership of Gerald Garcia and the efficient organization from Co-ordinator Liz Larner

NYGE is currently built up of 26 of the UKs finest young guitarists who have auditoned to gain their place in the ensemble.  Auditions are taking place in February and succesfull applicants will be invited to take part in residential courses and concerts held in the Easter and Summer holidays at venues across the UK.  Internationally renowned artists have performed with the ensemble and each year NYGE perform at prestigious concert venues and festivals.  NYGE Course & Concerts

AUDITIONS 2012

NYGE is looking for young talented guitarists to represent the U.K in the NYGE 2012 courses.

If you are a guitarist aged 13 - 18 years old who has a passion for performing with other musicians and are the equivalent standard of Grade 6 or above then NYGE would love to hear from you.

Auditions for the 2012 courses will take place in February on the following dates:  

5th   February 12' - London - Royal Academy of Music 

25th February 12' - Manchester - Chethams School of Music

26th February 12' - Birmingham - Edgbaston High School for Girls

In 2010 NYGE were directed by guitarist/composer Gary Ryan and performed the world premiere of the work 'Flower of the Field' which was commissioned for the ensemble's 10 year anniversary.
